DIMA was founded in 1986 developing tools and machines for the electronic industry. Starting with tools for surface mount technology DIMA soon designed a series of manual dispensing units, manual pick and place units stencil printers and refow ovens. In 1989 DIMA showed her first dispense robot the “Dot master” that soon would be followed by a range of pick and place machines and reflow ovens. During the years an average of 30% of DIMA’s personnel devoted itself to developing new technology to stay always one step ahead of the competition.
DIMA saw the world change and recognised that there was a need for flexibility (quick change over from products). Therefore DIMA focused on offline production preparation and real intelligence in machines and peripherals (feeders) to reduce change over times to the minimum. This allowed DIMA to approach the market with a full range of modular easy to handle machines ready for small, medium and high production runs combined with extremely short setup times.
After 13 years of dispensing experience DIMA decided to expand her dispensing programme with a larger fully modular dispensing robot. As result DIMA launched In 2004 the revolutionary new Hybrid HC-100/200 platform that with its modular concept and its “DIMA Soft user interface” still leaves all competitors far behind.
Constant development on valves and platforms has had such a large impact on the sales of the dispensing business that in 2008 DIMA decided to split the business and to start working with separate divisions. This way the products always get the attention they need and each division can focuses on her own products. None the less all divisions of the DIMA group can profit from the huge knowledge base present within the DIMA Group.
DIMA Group B.V. opened in 2010 a demos, sales and support centre in Singapore to serve the Asian market.
